MEMBERSHIP

There are two types of membership:

(effective from April to March of each year, and members can join at any time)

Full Membership :	R200,00 Organisations/Individuals are placed on our mailing list and receive all publications, notices of meetings/workshops and have full voting rights regarding the Constitution at Biennial General Meetings. They also have access to material in the library.
Special Membership:	R100,00 Organisations/Individuals are placed on our mailing list and receive all publications, notices of meetings/workshops but have no voting rights regarding the Constitution at Biennial General Meetings.

Advice and guidance in the care of elderly persons. Where problems are encountered, solutions are sought by consultation.
Information material regarding housing, old age homes, retirement villages, service centers, state subsidies, loans, the Carers Association, etc. is available from the Information Officer.
A magazine, Keryx, is distributed to all members at least twice per annum.
Members are regularly advised by means of circular letters of new developments, provincial, national and international workshops, conferences and fun days, and the feasibility of increasing or improving services.
By co-ordinating the efforts of the various affiliates, the overlapping of services are prevented and organizations are enabled to be mutually complementary to each other.
The close liaison which exists between Age-in-Action and various government departments permits problems and difficulties which may have been encountered by any other member to be brought to the attention of the highest authority, under the patronage of an accredited body.
The staff of member organizations are permitted to join the provident/pension scheme.
Members are assisted with the submission of business plans for subsidization.
Assistance is given with training courses for the management of organizations and staff of old age homes and service centers.
